The Aliyah Risk Calculator

Currently under research and development. Please try again soon!

Welcome to the Aliyah Risk Calculator brought to you by The Consortium for Research on Aliyah at Ariel University in Israel. This calculator is intended to measure your individual and family risks and resources relating to moving to Israel. Like all transitions, immigration to Israel entails many challenges for a family. Based on our research we have identified specific pre-Aliyah features that make it more likely that families will adjust well after Aliyah.

This calculator, which will take about 15 minutes to complete, uses scientific measures to assess various aspects of your family's current circumstances including questions about your social, financial, family, educational and individual life that have been shown to impact Aliyah success. The calculator will assess both risks and resources that you possess. The calculator is designed specifically for potential Western immigrants who are married with children. (A similar tool for other demographic groups is under development)

Once you are finished completing the measures, the calculator will produce a FINAL SCORE which combines both your resources and your risks. The range of the final score is between 0–100. A higher score indicates that you are at an elevated risk of experiencing difficulties after moving to Israel. A lower score indicates that you are at a minimal risk of experiencing difficulties after moving to Israel.

Your score will also place you in one of three categories of risk: RED, ORANGE, or GREEN. For each of the color risk zones the calculator will provide a description of your risk circumstance and will offer you specific recommendations that you should consider as you contemplate your move to Israel. Applying these recommendations before your move will assist in easing the transition.

The final score and interpretation should assist you in making an informed decision about Aliyah and will help you in developing a clear plan of success should you choose to move to Israel.

Please keep in mind that ultimately every family is unique. This calculator is intended as a general guideline to add to your Aliyah research as you make the right decision for your family. It also offers concrete steps to initiate now to maximize your Aliyah success.

Please answer the questions in this calculator as completely as possible.

All answers are strictly confidential. Your answers are not saved.

This calculator is for your own purposes to assess your resources and risks so you can make a more educated decision about moving to Israel or so you can know what supports you will need to maximize your Aliyah success.
